Brought me to tears, the illustrations and symbolism are incredible!

I was given a copy of this book and was asked to do an honest review, at first, that worried me because I can only be honest. I was afraid I would read this and not be able to review it. My fear went away, the moment I saw the cover. Looking at the farmer drew me into the book, I knew this author had talent from the moment I started reading. Learning a lesson is hard for a kid, a child can learn faster and absorb more, I believe, If the lesson is fun. This book has a beautiful character and the farmer, has an appealing face, that draws you to him, it makes you want to learn. Great addition to any child's bookshelf.

This is the second book we've read by this author, and I liked it even better than the first. I knew to expect lots of symbolism, and this book has much to explore in both the text and in the illustrations themselves. Each page was presented in beautiful detail and full color. There are little things like animals for the kids to find along the way or on a second reading, and at the end of the book the author has given a key to what each one symbolizes.I pre-read the book, and then had my eleven year old read it to his younger siblings (9, 6, and 3). They all enjoyed it - especially the six and three year olds.

*I received a free digital copy in exchange for my honest review* I read to my 4 and 6 year old and they loved the pictures and hearing the story. It was a tad hard for them to completely understand the symbolism at their ages, but it for sure sparked some conversation. We are practicing Catholics, so it did help to talk to the kids about what was happening in the book. I liked the Bible verses that were written in there for reading separately with the kids. The font was a little hard to read (maybe just because I was reading digitally), but the message was awesome!

Understanding the love and care that Jesus gives to his creation is central to the Gospel — it gives us a glimpse into the heart of God. And that’s what this book captures: it makes us so thankful for a Gardener who loves us, and wants the very best for us. Recommended!

Beautifully illustrated children’s book with a simple story that carries a profound message. Would make an excellent book to read in a Sunday School class or Junior Church. I loved the listing of items for the children to find as they proceed through the story.

I was provided an electronic copy of this book and was asked to give an honest review. When given books to review I am always afraid that my honest opinion will not please the author. However, this book was not an issue. The symbolism might be a little to advanced for toddlers to understand completely but a great way to introduce different biblical concepts to your children. I really enjoyed the book and the story of Jesus, the resurrection, and his love for us.

I was provided an electronic copy of this book and was asked to give an honest review. I really enjoyed the overall message and how the author clearly identifies the symbolism in the book. I think it was a little too advanced for my 4.5 year old, but it sparked a good family discussion. Definitely would recommend for slightly older children, perhaps 2nd grade and older.
