Cynthia Cooper, MFA, MA, OTR/L, CHT, is a clinician, author, researcher, and educator. She has practiced hand therapy for over 36 years and has published chapters in numerous hand therapy and occupational therapy textbooks and journals. Ms. Cooper is an active charter member of the American Society of Hand Therapy (ASHT), and she has presented numerous times at national and international meetings of occupational therapy and hand therapy organizations. She has won several awards including ASHT's Best Scientific Paper Award, ASHT's Best Poster Award, AOTA's Service Award, and the ArizOTA Dennis Krenek Volunteer Service Award. She was an invited overseas guest speaker for the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapists and the Hong Kong Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2015. She was selected by ASSH to participate in a volunteer trip for hand surgeons and hand therapists to La Paz, Bolivia, in 2015 and has been selected by AAHS to participate in a volunteer trip to Ghana, Africa, in 2017.

This provides a very comprehensive understanding of hand therapy. This has help me during my fieldwork rotation.

Great textbook for students/practitioners looking to expand their knowledge and specialize in UE rehab/splinting

Great text with helpful illustrations and tips. Clearly written, enjoyable to read. Useful for new and seasoned as well. I started practicing Hand Therapy in 1984, took a break for about 10 years, went back just over a year ago. Unfortunately let my certification lapse. Bought this to help me prepare to re-take the CHT exam, and as an aid in teaching a new graduate. I'm very pleased with my choice. The online resources are not as extensive as I hoped, but are useful for visual learners.

I found this book to be incredibility useful. I am a recent OTA graduate hired on for a OTR/L CHT (hand therapist). This book brought me up to speed and ready to start working. I will probably keep this book as a good reference for many years.

I love this book!!. It has a lot of information in a clear way to easy understand. Also anatomy was easy to enjoy :). Examples and pictures help a lot to understand most of the concepts.

Agnes becomes a wonderful mother for the orphaned girls. Nels manages to help her out her past behind, and learn to trust God.

It was a great story and I enjoyed reading it.

I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't get past Agnes. She was awful! She squats in this guy's home, and then when he shows up, she demands that he allow them to live there, and that he cannot stay there with them because it wouldn't be proper--hello...it's HIS HOUSE! He very generously gives in to her demands and moves into a small shed on his property. Rather than being thankful or grateful she has a sickening entitled attitude like he somehow owes it to her. I understand she was hurt in her past, but she was so demanding I just couldn't get past that.

Agnes became the guardian to three orphaned girls, but needed a place to live. She knew Nels had left his house when his fiancee in Norway informed him she had already wed. When Nels returned, the story continued to its predictable outcome. Although both characters had experienced loss in love, it was touching to see how easily they opened their hearts to the girls and each other. The emphasis on Bible verses kept them close to God. It was interesting to note how attitudes toward divorce and the importance on preserving reputations have changed so drastically.

Ms Ford, it took just 2 days to read all 4 books in this series. I loved all the characters and the family growing larger and closer together, each facing different problems and solving them with their faith in God and each other.Being a single mother is not easy even now, especially when falsehoods are spread by vindictive people. If not for good people and faith "there but for the GRACE OF GOD. Go we all.

“Reluctant Bride” is another clean romance with a lot of social tension, as well as emotional tension. There is also religious tension, but a righteous pastor who stands up to the challenge and quelled the bigotry. Bravo for a beautifully written Christian romance book.

I enjoyed this story and probably number 2 out of this series the best. As I Said before the stories are good but the plots in all of the books I have read from.This author is similar. It involves a man or woman who had been hurt, rejected,.or parents died and them coming together to take.care of a kid or kids.

I liked this story very much .I loved all the characters the story line was realistic the hardships that were overcomed .It was just a lovely book that I would recommend.This is the second book of the series that I have read now I am going back and reading the others may be out of order but I don't think it will matter

Yes, it just came out and I really did finish it that fast. This book is that good. Even better than the Kremlin Conspiracy. The worst case scenario of what if Iran really did buy nukes from N Korea? The scenario is perfectly wargamed out. The hero has to go from the frying pan to the fire. In a catch 22. I didn't want to put the book down because I had to find out what happened next. It slows down for just a bit just to speed right back up. Like riding in Blackhawk helicopter. The perfect flow. That's all I'm going to say. I hate reviews that spoil the story.

I have enjoyed everyone of Joel Rosenberg's books but this one is the best one I have read - I had a terrible time putting it down and finally admitted to myself that I might as well accept that I wasn't going to accomplish much of anything else until I finished reading it. I also had a personal interest in reading it as my ex-husband (who was a career Army officer) was stationed in Tehran, Iran in 1978 so he, our children and I were living there at the time that the country was literally falling apart - the Shah left about a month after the children and I were evacuated back to the United States. My ex was still there when the Shah left and the Ayatollah Khomeini arrived in country. If you are into reading an international book full of intrigue, I recommend strongly that you get your hands on this one.

Please don’t ever stop writing. I’ve read all your books and am impatiently waiting for the next one. What’s Ryker going to do next. I wish everyone in government, local, state, and federal would read Rosenberg’s books, take the potential realities to heart, and then DO something. I think the future of our country and the world depend on it.

I love all of Joel Rosenberg's books that he has written. Just got this book a few days ago and I am sure I woon't be disappointed. Wish Joel would go his books made into movies. They are so good that Christians and none Christians would enjoy them

I have always been impressed with Joel's ability to tell a good story but I would have liked to read more about Markus and followup on his life after the final battle; perhaps maybe introduce striking up a relationship with one of the lady characters he worked with throughout the novel or seeing his friend finally come to Christ. I couldn't help but feel sad for him and all his losses of family and close friends and no real resolution to finish the end of the book. The ending seemed abrupt like Joel wasn't allowed to continue because of publishing deadlines or whatever. A post script of Markus's life would have made for a better close than just ending after the final battle.

As always I could not put the book down! Joel takes us on a ride like no other author can. This book was so good and so scary considering our current world events! Thank you Joel for your amazing work and talent!

I've read every Joel Rosenberg book published. The hardest part is finishing one and waiting for the next release. Fantastic.

I devoured The First Time She Drowned in two days. And, still, I’m sitting here, my jaw in my lap wondering how I go about describing something so ugly and yet so beautiful. Though fiction, this exquisite debut novel speaks of things that are so very palpably real. It could well be used as a guidebook to understanding abuse and depression and anxiety. And also as a means to achieve happiness even when you have suffered, repeatedly, at the hands of each of those horrific demons.Right from the outset, Kettler’s words drift off the page with a subtle, poetic strength, like the mournful cries of an opera singer, taking root deep into the soil of the readers soul. Each word, each sentence, wraps around you. Tight. Like a straightjacket. Not letting go until the very end. When you are finally ready. Finally healed.This novel is one big trigger, and those readers who have been the victim of emotional or physical abuse, who have been suicidal, or who are all too familiar with the dark endlessness of depression should take warning. This book wrecked me multiple times on multiple levels. Tears filled my eyes and butterflies danced in my stomach... It pulled me in with it's lyrical prose and kept me hooked with the tragic details...It's a story about an unloved girl trying to make it in her own world. Cass has survived family hatred, abandonment, and years in a mental hospital... When she gets a chance at normalcy (college, friends, classes etc.), it's not exactly as easy as one might think. Actually, it feels as though she is just continuing her never ending tread to keep her head above water... She nearly drowns, is pulled back into her mothers web, and slowly remembers horrors from the past. She wants a new friend and a new love, but can't help but push them away in fear of being used or abandoned again. It takes time, hard work, and a little self exploration, but eventually she finds the key to staying afloat.This was seriously one of the best books I've ever read. It was gritty and real and everything I love about YA contemporary. There were flaws in the characters and hurt in the words, but the progression throughout the book was a beautiful transformation of pure bravery and ultimate survival. I loved it and highly recommend that readers of all ages read it!

I wish I could write the eddies and currents of emotion the way Kletter can. This is, on the surface, a story of a teenage girl who has been damaged almost beyond redemption by her narcissistic sociopath of a mother. It's told in waves, alternating between flashbacks to her dysfunctional childhood and a present in which she's released from the mental hospital where her family discarded her and is able to try to live a "normal" life in college. But Cassie is far from a normal girl, and until she fully faces the ugly truth of her past, she may never learn to swim through it and out the other side. Kletter does an amazing job making Cassie somehow sympathetic, even as Cassie does (almost) everything she can to sabotage herself. She also drags us under the terrible riptide of abuse and neglect that made Cassie this way, forcing us to experience the paradox of Cassie longing for her mother's love even as she recognizes that her mother is the person most likely to drown her--permanently.

The First Time She Drowned is crowned with one of the better book titles I’ve come across in recent memory. It opens with a poetically metered prologue that sets the book’s searching tone, and progressively leads the reader through a story that could have been maudlin in the hands of a lesser writer. Author Kerry Kletter deftly gives voice to eighteen year old narrator Cassie O’Malley, in language both startlingly honest and languidly circumspect. This is a modern day, relevant story of the damage exacted in dysfunctional families, where there is so much hidden agenda that the only way to the light is to unearth the source. In layered chapters of past and present, Cassie O’Malley is the bearer of the cross in a family dynamic that victimizes her, lands her against her will in a mental hospital then springs her upon her acceptance to college, where she immediately discovers she is ill prepared to meet its predictable challenges: classes, new friends, and the simple logistics of just fitting in. At the core of this story is a mother-daughter dynamic built on the shaky ground of mistrust. Cassie carriesscars like an emotional latch-key kid, wrought from the hands of a mother so self-serving and narcissistic; she thinks the emotional andphysical neglect is her own fault. It is a long road to recovery in this well-crafted tale of a search for truth, and Kletter gives us a protagonistwe desperately want to see triumph. We understand Cassie’s interior life because the author leaves nothing unattended. Kletter dives down to the bone marrow of that which shapes an inchoate psyche and leaves an imprint, then leads the way through to an ending that shines with emotional intelligence. I read this gripping book as close to non-stop as I’ve ever read anything. It is a riveting read written with such maturity, I find it hard to grasp that it is Kletter’s debut novel. About the Author

After fifteen successful seasons known as “Stuttering John” on The Howard Stern Radio Show, John appeared on the reality show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. His likeability and humor scored him a guest spot on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and immediately after his down-to-earth & hilarious segment, the show’s executive producer and head writer offered John a job. In addition to being a staff writer, John was the Tonight Show announcer, and developed & performed in many comedy sketches and correspondence pieces, as well as being the show’s warm-up act. John remained on for the last ten seasons, until Jimmy Fallon took Jay's place in 2014. John began with The Howard Stern Radio Show as a college intern, but immediately became one of the show's very popular on-air personalities. While gaining national acclaim and recognition for his daring interview style and “no-holds-barred” questions, he started writing for the show as well. He interviewed countless celebrities for the radio show which directly led to him being hired as a field reporter for the nationally syndicated Howard Stern television show. He continued his television work for Stern on the highly-rated Howard Stern E! Television Show. John was the sole writer hired for 2013's "Kareem Abdul Jabbar Roast," hosted by George Lopez. The roast was thrown to celebrate Kareem’s statue in front of Staples Center in Los Angeles. John’s feature film credits include Howard Stern’s Private Parts, Dude, Where’s My Car? and Osmosis Jones. I was an avid Stern listener for many years, from the time John started on the show until he left for Leno. I continued to listen until about five years ago as I felt the show deteriorated; many bits and gags were eliminated and were replaced by more celebrity interviews and a lot of Howard's uninformed political views, causing me to quickly change stations. John is obviously bitter and jealous of Stern and many of the long time staffers. There were some interesting tidbits in the book, but overall a cheap money grab at the expense of others.John characterizes himself as thick skinned and carefree and you would tend to believe that if you recall the celebrity interviews he did for Stern and the embarrassing questions that he asked that most would shy away from. However, as I read the book and listened to his podcast, which I now consider unlistenable garbage, I unfortunately have come to the conclusion that John is nothing more than an ignorant hustler. Real friends do not write tell all books, only egotistical, selfish jerks do that. John is a first rate backstabber, not much of a friend.John has the writing style of an eight grader and not much depth. The book is disorganized and petty much of it backstabbing those he called friends to make a cheap buck, and I am guilty of buying the book, wish I could take it back. If you are really bored and have no comic books around, or dishes to wash, this could be a book for you

As a Howard Stern fan, I've followed John Melendez since he was an intern on the show. While many staff members couldn't get beyond the shadow of the Stern Show, John managed to succeed in TV, movies, music, and now literature. This is his story, and what a story it is. Tales from the Stern Show and the Tonight Show that you would never read anywhere else.

I'm a stern fan and hoped to read something new. John spends the entire book crapping on everyone that has ever helped him. I forgot about how unlikable he actually is. Half the book he explains how talented, important and funny he is but I cant remember laughing during the entire book. But honestly I didn't read the entire book because the non stern parts are boring and unreadable. Anyone with half a brain can see what a hypocrite he is. I'm sorry and am ashamed I gave him my money. Its makes the Jackie book look like Shakespeare

Not a very good book appears to be a money grab by a disloyal former employee. The book is poorly edited. To bad I wasted my money on the kindle version, the hard copy would make great kindling for my fireplace.

The book is really unorganized. The stories skip all over the place. You think you are going to get some juicy details, but almost everything is what any Stern Show fan will already know. I have been listening to The Howard Stern Show since 1993, but only became a die-hard fan when it went to Sirius. I always thought the Artie years when John was on the show were some of the best, but his stories in the book are very disappointing. He has to keep repeating that he "loves" Howard even though he disparages him every chance he gets. He talks about Leno like he is a god, which we know is complete nonsense. It would have been better if he went in chronological order and actually had some proof to back up the amount of trash he talks.
